Eco-friendly
foam is warm roof solution to condensation problems
Super-insulated vaulted spaces in new and existing structures
Homeowners with vaulted or cathedral ceilings sometimes
see staining on interior walls and assume they have a leaky
roof. Often, however, it is the result of condensation that
occurs because vaulted ceilings lack traditional attic space.
An attic isnt just a place to stash your decorations
till next Christmas. It provides valuable airspace that
separates the warm inside from cold outside. Without this
space, water
vapor can condense. instead of dissipate.
A popular fix is to keep the underside of the roof cold
by circulating cold outside air in through eave vents and
out through a ridge vent. But Summit Roofing has found a
more effective solution the
super- insulated warm roof.
Summit sprays in a five- to six-inch layer of eco-friendly
polyurethane foam insulation to separate the cool roof underside
from the warm, moist inside air. Summits super-insulation
installation method brings the sprayed insulation layer
all the way out the end of the eaves, preventing any snowmelt
from refreezing and forming an ice dam. This thick foam
layer creates an impressive insulated home, excellent vapor
barrier, gives off no harmful fumes, and can usually be
retrofitted in existing structures.
